Psst. To download your free save the dates, just scroll down to the “Materials” section and click the “Free Save the Date Templates” link.
Few things set the tone for your wedding quite like a unique save the date. Whether it be a series of photos on a photo booth strip or a card with a mini pencil attached (you know, so you can “pencil them in”–ha!), the cleverness gets me every time.
But clever doesn’t have to mean expensive or time consuming. My favorite way to add interest and beauty to simple save the dates is by layering vellum overtop a gorgeous cardstock. Not only is it insanely easy, but you can print them on your home printer and assemble them in less than an hour. Then tie everything together with a teeny gold brad and tuck them in festive envelopes before popping them in the mail.
And the best part? We’re giving away the template for free. We promise, your guests will love them.
When I received an email a couple months back from Jamie and Matt’s photographer, Stacy Hart, with a sweet note and a link to their wedding photos, I nearly fell out of my chair. It’s not often that I get to see photos of Pipkin Paper Co’s invitations in the wild, but when I do (and especially when the photographer is as talented as Stacy) it just takes my breath away. Not to mention the bride and groom couldn’t have been be more adorable, or put together, or in love…. trust me, I could go on and on.
Sigh.
So with their permission, I jumped at the chance to share their big day on the blog. It makes my heart sing when I get to see how couples customize their wedding stationery to fit their big day, and Jamie and Matt did it perfectly. It’s elegant, understated and the prettiest shade of pale blue you’ve ever seen.
Can we all just agree that wedding invitations should be a keepsake, not just another expense? It’s easier said than done, I know, but invitations are one of the very first things to set the stage for your big day. And even though I wholeheartedly believe in making a wedding feel good without such a hefty pricetag, it doesn’t mean that your invitations have to suffer. These folded wedding invitations do it all. They’re interesting, they set the tone for your big day and they don’t cost a fortune. Plus your guests will love all the unique details that make them stand out, so they don’t simply get posted to the fridge, they’ll be cherished for years to come.
The other day I was perusing the BHLDN website when I saw a pair of cute vow books. Have you heard of these? I didn’t even know these were a thing until I stumbled on them, and let’s just say now I’m super smitten. My husband and I didn’t write our own vows, but having a darling pair of notebooks to write them in might have changed things. So I designed the DIY vow books of my dreams–thick textured cardstock, calligraphy, dreamy ribbon, the works–and thought I would share the template with you for your own wedding.
Read on to learn how to make your own diy vow books.
