The Best Canva Fonts of 2021

Hang around with me long enough and you’ll know that I love Canva.

It’s easy to use, it has made creating brand and storefront graphics a breeze, and it’s way cheaper than paying for Adobe Illustrator.

With all the time I spend in Canva, I’ve seen my fair share of fonts – both beautiful and cringe worthy. And over the years I’ve certainly compiled my own short list of favorites.

These are my favorite Canva fonts of 2021 and they’re what I find myself coming back to over and over again.

Because they’re pretty classic, these fonts are perfect for blog posts, Pinterest graphics, social media, and digital products. And they’ll never really go out of style, so use ’em to your heart’s content.

For a free software, Canva really excels in the font department.

So much so that it was hard to narrow my favorites down to just these five.

I plan to update this list every now and then as styles change and new fonts are introduced. Just know that these fonts will still look good years from now.

Calgary

A graceful serif font by Jen Wagner, Calgary is ideal for gorgeous invitations, logos, titles, and more. It pairs beautifully with a lot of other fonts, both serif and sans serif, thin and bold. Just note that Calgary traditionally comes with both uppercase and lowercase letters, but only uppercase is available on Canva.

Montserrat

Montserrat is a personal favorite (both inside and outside of Canva) and I use it in just about everything. It’s one of many great fonts from Adobe, so it pairs well with a slew of other Adobe fonts. But since it’s somewhat chunky, I prefer to use it with a delicate serif or even a calligraphy font.

Brittany

Canva has quite a few attractive calligraphy fonts to choose from. But not all of them stand on their own as well as Brittany. It’s a bold font, so it really pops off the page. And the letters are well-defined, which means you can read it easily from a mile away.

Alta Light

Alta is a modern sans-serif, all-caps display font that’s perfect for headings, logos, eBooks and graphics. If you would prefer something that stands out a bit better, you can opt for Alta Caption, a bolder version of the same font.

Ovo

A Google font, Ovo was actually inspired by the hand lettering of the 1930’s and 40’s. It’s a classic serif font that has an almost soft, organic feeling thanks to the rounded edges and whimsical numbers. Use all-caps for headings and a mix of capital and lowercase for body copy.
